If you have a Garmin verified MV, use a "good" BC, and the scope tracks properly BUT your POI consistently doesn't align with the ballistic calculation...what do you do?

At what range. It certainly can become a thing.

To answer your question. I check my zero.

On top of that nothing wrong with truing to the conditions of the day. I just don’t trust them when those change

I wouldn’t true at either distance for 6 creed.

I could see the need to true a 223 at 1000 depending on what your shooting.

If I’m shooting a known bullet at those ranges above and something isn’t lining up BC is the last thing on the list of variables.

Hornady and Berger G1 BCs have been very reliable to well past hunting shot yardages for me for a long time now.

A good chrono like a garmin and using G1 BCs with good bullets will lead to consistent hits in most cases if you can shoot well and call wind well.

I have seen instances of the 143 ELDX needing velocity adjustments past around 850-900ish yards.

Why G1 or G7? A few years ago I switched over to G7 based on a few conversations with Berger and some buddies of mine. They are both so close in the app, but generally the G7 has a little less drop at ELR.

I’ve been using G1 with hornady and Berger for a few years now and they have aligned well with hits at range.

I’ve experimented with G7, G1, trueing BC, all of it. Lately, G1 with good/known bullets and a garmin chrono has proven to be stupidly reliable.

I’m honestly not interested in any bullet that does weird shit in flight inside transonic.

The Garmin is the only consumer chrono that is accurate enough to not cause issues. Since using Garmins while trueing at long range, I have not had to change MV one time in bullets with solid BC numbers.

@Formidilosus - I was also going to ask: have you tried the new (small) Labradar? One of the LR guys here recommended it - although I think mainly due to the ability to store multiple gun profiles and better screen readability. With all of the hassles the originals had, I was curious how the new ones are going. I did have a cursory look at the Hide soon after they were released, but don't recall much being posted there about them.

I’ve used or been around most of what’s out there. For consumer chronographs, there is Garmin- and everything else.

Or a book. I don’t know how many hours I spent reading through “The Art of the Rifle” and dry firing.
My hunch is that “ The Art of the Rokslide Special” would sell. You guys need another iron in another fire I’m sure.

I know you guys are busy…but man think of the passive income a book brings in. All of us koolaid drinking roksliders would be giving these books to Fudds every Christmas. The other thing about books on riflery/marksmanship, for every one book you find on the basics of shooting there’s dozens that are “how to shoot like the most advanced swat sniper on the planet”. I’ve spent some time looking for books on the basics. Not a ton out there.
