Ive been researching shelters for the last couple months for a backpack elk hunt this September in Idaho. I have never used a floorless shelter but from the research I've done I've narrowed it down to the luna 4 and the Seek Outside LBO. I know condensation seems to be most peoples major issue with a floorless. I like the luna 4 because it has a vent near the top of the shelter, but i like the modularity of the lil bug out. Is there a way to vent the lil bug out through the top? I won't be using a stove but would like to have the option to in the future. Does any have experience with these two shelters?

Are there any other shelters in this weight class under $400 anyone recommends?

The LBO also has a vent at the top. Where the two zippers for the doors come together you just don't zip them up all the way. You can essentially make the vent as big or little as you want. Some other ones in the same category you may want to check out are MLD's Supermid Mountain Laurel Designs - Home Page, MLD tarps cuben fiber backpackinglight lightweight backpacking hiking backpacks fast hiking bivysack packs, lightweight backpacking, ultralite and LOCUS GEAR - "A Beautiful moment with us." - Lightweight Shelters also may make something that will fit the bill.

FYI there's a new, never used, Luna 4 with a new Pyranet 4 on Backpackinglight for $425. Also a couple LBO's for sale on that site as well.

I have the LBO setup posted for sale over on the BPL site. It is the older version that does not have built in vents. All the zippers in any of the setups unzip from either the top or bottom, thus you can simply zip down from the top to get your venting. Here's the link for the sale: FS: Seek Outside Lil Bug Out (LBO) System - Backpacking Light

let me know if you have any questions about this system. i have both the older and new version. I'm selling the older version.
