No problem Buster. Just sitting at the airport heading home.
You can actually watch tonight's auction on line, lots of tags tonight.

Just read the specs on the new Kuiu sleeping bags from Kuiu's forum. I sure hope there is an error with the prices?

30ºF Bag
Weight: 1lb 7.5 oz
Price: $450

15ºF Bag
Weight: 1lb 14.7oz
Price: $580

0ºF Bag
Weight: 2lb 7.5oz
Price: $700

I didn't expect these bags to be cheap but I thought they'd be a little better priced than this. There are alot of bag makers using coated down these days. I did a quick search on 15 degree bags and within minutes found a couple of 15* coated down bags from a reputable manufacturer within a couple of ounces in weight of Kuiu's bag. Not to mention they were much cheaper than Kuiu's bag. For customer direct pricing I would expect these bags to run 20% less expensive than what they are priced at. Would hate to see what these would run full retail.

I'm going to give you a hint. This would be full retail. I feel like Jason started out with the intention of selling his gear at a reasonable price, then realized that people will pay a premium for the " latest and greatest", and decided to say to hell with it, let's make some money.

Can't fault him for trying to find that breaking point.

Agreed, I would have said he was already there, but this should send it over the edge. Inventory issues and moving manufacturing to China didn't do it, but I think the price hike will. Of course, there are people paying $300,000+ to kill a sheep (in the name of conservation, I'm not against this FWIW), so who knows.

no but you can stop buying his products:)i really have liked allot of the stuff he has brought out & was looking at these new bags, but i wont be no more,to many other good options out there.

And thus he may find out where that breaking point is now....that was my only point. Just sold the last of my Kuiu gear. Good stuff but better stuff out there for less IMO.

I'm sure Kuiu will sell a bunch of these sleeping bags. They do look pretty nice, they are using quality 850 down, and the weights are right in there with the best in their temp ratings. I just think they are priced a bit high for supposed customer direct.

The new Kuiu tents look pretty decent. I bought an exo skeleton style tent last year and don't think I could ever go back to the inner pole style. Will hold any true judgement on the Kuiu tent until I can see all of the dims. and specs. It is nice to see more exo skeleton options on the market though.

If anyone wants to play model, I'd love to see some pics of the SG Sky bags actually on someone. I'm trying to get a better idea of actual bag size but it's hard to truly tell when they are just sitting on the floor.
