Hey guys. I am new to high end backpacks and looking for some advice.

I want a 2 bag setup. My primary use will be one that I can use as a day pack that will haul my sticks and platform for Midwest whitetail hunting and be able to pack meat if necessary.

The other bag is a western backcountry pack. This will also be used for backpack camping with my family.

I have a MR popup 38 currently. It works for me but I don't like how my sticks and platform attach. It is also maxed out carrying a boned out whitetail.

Yesterday I picked up a great deal on a crux frame with a sky talus 6900 bag locally. It is basically new with tags for a great price. I am going to ruck with this frame for a bit before I invest more into this system to make sure I like the frame.

If I stick with this, is anyone running an avail 2200 on a frame? I know it can be done but I haven't seen any pictures or reviews of it used like that. I think that pa k would work well to haul sticks and a saddle platform in the flap on the back.

I am open to other pack options. If this don't work for me I may post it here and try a kifaru.

Thanks for any advice

I attach the Avail to both of the SG frames frequently. It works great for a day pack/ loader hauler. Remove the belt and shoulder straps from the Avail and the rest is intuitive.

The Avail does attach but it’s less straightforward than some of the other bag-only options, just because you have to strip the suspension from it. The bag is smaller than the frame. The approach is easier to connect but more geared for western hunting with the spotter pocket. Probably worth considering? I usually tell people get the solo bag for a daypack bag on SG frame. It fully fits over the stays to attach, and compresses down in volume quite well.
