I finally got my sewing machine. Played with it a little tonight but I need to pick up some needles tomorrow.

Been playing with a couple projects. Put a zipper in my Highcamp 7000 as well as velcro on the inside to attach mesh pouches (idea completely stolen from EXO).

Nice mod for the Highcamp! I've managed to get a Singer 201 which seems to work well although my skills need some work. looking forward to being able to get some progress on some projects of my own.

I get a lot of my supplies from DIYGearSupply. I've used their Gutermann thread quite a bit on just about everything aside from pullouts that can be done with a lighter thread.

Not 100% sure really. I've had a run of it laying around for a while now. It's #5 "Waterproof" zipper but I can't remember who makes it or where I got it. Because this was a mod and I didn't really have excess material to make "flaps" to cover the zipper, I went with the waterproof one just to try to shed any rain.

I have bought a lot of stuff including a machine from sailrite, they have some good videos too. I used their waterproof zipper on a few items.

I've used the gutermann thread exclusively for everything. Ripstopbytheroll was adding it free to orders for a while, so everytime I ordered some fabric, I'd get a spool of a different color.

I have some of Gutermann Mara 70 from Ripstopbytheroll. I have started sewing some scrapes to learn a little before I attempt to make anything. I have been trying to figure out the tension adjustments. Also, what causes miss stitching, it will be several stitches and then it will miss a few stitches on some of the thicker material. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, in the few things i've sewn....this is the strongest stuff. Some of that thread you get at the sewing stores is crap for packs, tents etc
