Sevr 1.5 vs Cinder Block...Really?

The Sevr 1.5, 125 gr head held up so well in my previous tests, that I thought I'd test it in a way I usually only reserve for the toughest fixed blade heads--by shooting it into a cinder block. Can this mechanical head really hold up to that?

Dang! That’s pretty impressive. I’m considering a mechanical head this year, and the 1.5 SEVR might get the nod.

Pretty damn impressive.

But no way would I have done that in my house. More power to you. I would have ended up with an arrow that stuck in the ceiling or something on a bounce back.

Haha. I've actually done it at least 50 times and never had a problem. But I am in the basement, which is my trophy room, archery range, and archery lab :)

Have you shot the Vortex 125 gr. Steel BH's into a cinder block?

No, I haven't. The Vortex are great for providing a big cut, but I wouldn't bet on them surviving this kind of zero penetration testing. I don't usually shoot mechs into concrete, just because they usually get destroyed and they're not designed to handle that.
