Selling Used Suppressor in 2026?

Pretty sure you have to go through the entire process to changes trusts, even if you control both trusts. No different than selling to another person.
I could be wrong, but the trust is only sent to the atf upon a new submission. Other than that, it’s a document you keep and have notarized. I believe it’s a bit of a “loop hole” in that you can add/ remove people without doing anything other than notarizing signatures on the documents. Now if someone is added and you submit a new item on the trust, they have to include everything.

He was stating to transfer from one trust to another, which is a transfer of ownership even if the same person is the settlor and trustee.

Example, I have a muffler in ABx Trust, and want to move it to CBx Trust. This requires a new tax stamp.

I have a dead air sandman s, a rugged radiant 7.62, rugged razor 556 that I’ll sell for dirt cheap. I’d sell my OGs as well since they are 30 cal and I want lighter and cal specific.

There's no dispute in that, but it would be a free process come Jan 1

I understand with a transfer from one owner to the other, a form 4 and stamp are needed. I have one can not on my trust and I will be moving it to my trust come next year. If it takes a while, who cares, I have possession the whole time.

What state are you in?
Dunno if it helps but just this month we got approval for our FFL and will have our SOT in April - assuming that paperwork goes as smoothly as our FFL stuff did...?

Maryland just outside dc.

Curious, what makes you want to offload the OG?
Don’t know his reason but the OG6.5 came out almost immediately after the OG - and came in lighter and is caliber specific vs just 30 cal. Given the choice over id go with lighter smaller cans. Suppression is supposedly the same between the OG and 6.5, and if I’m going with one dedicated for hunting I want to have the lightest possible

Plus their new triple 6, the reaper, and offerings from airlock.

The OG 6.5 is noticeably and measurably quieter than the OG. I can live with the OG as a .308 caliber can, but the OG 6.5 is definitely the better option for .264 and below.

pretty much exactly for what everyone has said and the OG6.5 better fits my wants/needs…had the 6.5 been a parallel development I would have not purchased the OG.

And the airlock nano may, or may not be, a driving factor in wanting to free up a few hundred bucks to tell my wife that I “need” another suppressor…

Depending on how easy/painless things are Jan 1, I’ll be trying to rid myself of an OG and a TBAC 7
As much as I am thinking about how I would like that TBAC 7, I think the process will be the same as it has been - except for the $200 tax. I don’t think there is any chance that using a trust (existing, new or single shot) will eliminate the ATF paperwork.

I’m going to be very curious as to how any used can is priced. I anticipate a material discount from the price of a new can.

Well, let’s talk after the new year as I’m hoping to get rid of both cans for pennies on the dollar.

I do agree with you in that I don’t think the process will change (minus the $200)…but I have a smaller sliver of hope it will be simplified in some way, shape or form.

I have a legacy Surefire .30 cal suppressor that I will likely try to sell. It’s probably very marketable for someone who wants an absolutely indestructible suppressor for high volume firing or a belt fed. To me it’s just not practical anymore for how I use rifles. If it doesn’t sell, oh well, it isn’t costing me money by having it.
