Seekins Chassis now available

Not sure if you mentioned it prior, but seeing that seekins is offering in two length actions, regardless of tikka sizes, did you get the short action or long action? Curious if the long will still feed .223 well
As I understand it, all Tikkas are built on the same long action. As for the chassis, I believe the difference is just the length the magwell is cut for. So in the case of the .223, its the short. I'd reach out to Seekins to be sure before ordering though

I'm not aware of any AICS pattern long action magazines that i'd want to bet on functioning well with 223. You could probably frankenbuild something that works but seems like a poor application to me.

Just called Seekins to ask about my order for a ph3 chassis. I ordered mine within the first 30mins of launch and was told it would be 2-3 months before it ships. So i waited 3 months before I inquired about it. I was just told “oh boy you’ve still got a long wait. Probably another 3-4 months if you’re lucky before you see yours, it’s a much needed part and we are prioritizing the full rifle builds we are making with those stocks so sorry. Then why did you sell it to me? They’re just gonna go ahead and hold my $1000 dollars for unspecified months? Not because they don’t have the stocks but because they need to use the one I paid for to build a rifle for someone else. Why do companies do this? I’ve been a seekins fanboy forever and have owned multiple rifles but this kinda stuff puts a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when the fellers who ordered chassis for rem 700 and tikkas are receiving their orders. So im penalized for buying a seekins product, a ph3 NRL hunter and assuming I could buy the chassis for it and maby have it for deer season. If you sell someone something and agree to a time line you don’t get to just turn around and say “yup we’ve been making them but it’s a balancing act between how many we release to customer orders and how many we keep for ourselves” so no I can’t give you a time frame now. There was no info put out saying that if you order it for a seekins platform your just in for a hell of a long wait. 2-3 months is what was agreed to and the customer service guy telling me that yup we have them but we’re just not gonna send them to you just really chapped my ass
Buy a tikka? Sorry too easy

I agree it may be a poor application. I was considering buying a "Tikka long action hunter chassis", so that I could use it on both short and long COAL cartridges, i.e. multiple Tikkas to include my 223 trainer, without buying multiple. Asking here seemed like a good idea if someone had the same thought as me, and had done this already.
"Short actions" only seems the appropriate route

Grip ~2-3oz. Recoil pad .5oz (backfire and it’s better). Magazine if you have SA can save 3oz over metal with CF or Hawkins mags.

It’s lighter than my magnesium element.
I bought an XLR carbon grip and it only cut 1.77 ounces, ended up returning it because I found it less comfortable and didnt think the weight savings was enough to justify the expense.

Yeah they are $$$ I had one for another build so it was easier to justify. I had a buddy just asking about them and said the same….original grip is solid just a bit heavier.
