Seekins Chassis now available

I think I know why… I have the Element Hunter in 6.5PRC. I have had many failure to feeds due to the feed ramp getting cockeyed. They sent me another and it is not experiencing this issue. I cannot find a difference in the two mags???
Yea, it’s not great. Mine fed flawlessly in my Gen 1 Element. It’s rough in the M3 and that’s with Seekins cleaning up the feed ramp and sending me a second mag they “tuned” to the gun. Both feed a bit rough no matter what.

I picked one of these up to build up a Tikka .223 trainer in and I have been exceptionally happy with it so far. I'm taking it out on Saturday to do some field shooting but it seems like this will be a really handy little rifle.

The fit and finish was excellent on the chassis I received, installation was a breeze. This is making me even more excited to get the Element Hunter I ordered.

I am also build a 223 tikka trainer. Thanks for the idea! I bought the Element Hunter in 6.5PRC… love it, but there wasnt an easy option for 223 since it wasn’t offered in the element hunter. I called Seekins to check in on my order, looks like I have about 3 months until it arrives. Gonna have to see if any retailers have them in

What magazine are you using for your .223? Any Recommendations?

I first picked up some 10rd MDT's and they ran fine but the last round occasionally wouldn't feed and I didn't like how far they protruded so I switched over to Accurate Mag 5rds and they've run flawlessly. I shoot off rocks frequently and the 10 round mags were just a bit in the way on that gun.

I concur with earlier comments that the backfire recoil pad is a bit better than factory.

Got to shoot mine on the 7wsm a good amount this weekend and for being heavy recoiling and light, I was pleased with the overall setup.

Are these the polymer mdt AICS mags with a Tikka?

Still trying to confirm the polymer aics MDT mags would work with a Tikka short action

BTW, there is a 15% off sale going on at Backfire. Those Backstop recoil pads are $59.50 right meow. No affiliation. Just a pad enjoyer and saw the sale email.

I dont know why they wouldn't. They work in KRG and XLR chassis and probably all the other ones too.

Far as I can tell, the "Plastic AICS mags dont work with tikkas" is a holdover from when PMAG AI pattern was the primary plastic AI pattern mag and they dont work with tikkas because the feed lips are too thick to fit in the bottom cut of tikka actions. That has not been a problem with the MDT poly mags ive used with 223 and creedmoor tikkas.

I think seekins is claiming the feedlips are too thick.

That was the case with the Hawkins Hunter mags I use. I just shaved down a tad bit of material and they work with the Hunter chassis now fine.

Worst case you may have to take a small bit of material off the plastic ones, but I are they’ll likely work (heck I have one downstairs I’ll go check!!)

Fits fine. Not the right chamber for that magazine so can’t check feeding. But snaps right in.

Yeah but they are too thick for the opening in the bottom of the action, not the chassis. Meaning if MDT poly mags work in KRG and XLR chassis, there's no reason they should interfere with the same action in a seekins chassis right?
