Seek Outside Silverton 2300 internal sheet daypack

Bringing this back up for those that have used it.

Considering a new silverton or a flight 3 for a backpacking pack 2-3 days max when I don’t want to carry my K4.

Any comments on the pack as an overnighter? I’m guessing the flight would probably be preferred but having atleast one pocket would sure be nice
On the frame or just the silverton by itself? What weight is "overnighter"?

No real comparison between the two. One has a very thin plastic frame sheet—perfect for a day pack; the Flight has a full frame and can carry 30-40 lbs w/o any problem—way more perfect for a multi-day trip.

The Flight III you can get different sizes to fit your torso; the Silverton is a one size fits all.

Old Flight I (customized frame to lengthen it before they offered longer lengths) loaded up for a Spring trip across the Bob Marshall

The flight looks like what I’m after. One pocket for organization would be nice but I guess that’s the price I’ll have to pay.

What size is the old frame? I’m 5’6 and thinking I can make 22” work

Yeah 22" should be fine.

I have this from my old SG pack

SG camp pocket

I just wrap one of the straps around the inner frame—it's big enough for my first aid/fire kits, headlamp, charger, toiletries, etc

Yeah, Just to chime in... You can do an overnighter in the Silverton if you are absolutely dialed with your UL gear. Anything beyond 25 lbs in that pack is going to become uncomfortable. We do have a beefier harness and hipbelt.

The Flight 3 got tested at an independent gear testing facility and scored very highly in, abrasion resistance and load failure (basically testing to the point where over 60% of weight is transfered to the shoulders).

It can be done, but it's a lot nicer on a frame (especially if you happen to kill something) :D

The bag layout is nice on the Silverton; it works well for hunting and I sometimes think about cutting off the straps and padding. Then I remember how nice it is for the airport...

Unfortunately, I only have one pack out picture, and @wind gypsy 12 banged the buck enough that the 3 quarters I hauled weren't fully there.

I think I’ll give the flight 3 a try. Really need something for 2-3 day fishing/scouting/mountaineering trips.

Not a fan of miles of bouldering with a frame on.

I'm happy to hear about the new harness. That's the rub I have against mine. It's not very comfortable for an all day fishing pack for me.
