Seek Outside sent me one of their new daypacks, the Silverton. I'll be using it the next month or so and post up a review of my thoughts.

It's a standalone daypack, but can also be used in conjunction with their hauling frames. They list the volume at 2300 cubic inches (37 liters), but I can tell you that's being conservative—it's got a lot of volume, enough for 3-4 days if packed carefully.

Looking forward to it! What nalgene pocket is that?

It's a Stone Glacier; evidently they've changed them to a belt mounted option. These were the original ones, my buddy uses one too—super easy to get to and it's out of the way of your arms. Evidently we're the only two people that liked them mounted this way :)

Looking forward to the review. I’ve been running the unaweep 4800 with the talon pocket, but been thinking of going with the Merlin for day hunts. This Silverton pack might be the ticket though.

Merlin is a nice little pack, but I found that much after early season simply not enough volume. The Silverton has a ton of room for a day pack and then some :)

Can you remove the suspension when using it on a frame?

It’s a frame sheet and it can be removed easily. Want to say it’s 7-8 oz.

The shoulder straps and waist belt aren’t removable, but easy to fold up out of the way.

I moved elk and deer with mine this year without issueby wrapping the waist belt back around the bag, and snugged the shoulder straps tight. I left the frame sheet in too so I wouldn't loose it...

The stretch pockets make it easy to organize tripod, stool, sticks, puffy, and the side zip pockets for snacks, spotter.

Can you confirm total weight sans plastic frame sheet + mounted to your Revolution frame? I read the review and the rest of this thread and didn’t notice that info, sorry if I missed it.

Just under 4 1/4 lbs, you could lighten that a little more by leaving out the cross members in the frame.

If anyone is looking for one of these, someone one eBay had 2 of them listed. I picked up one so there's another one still available for $185. Mine just came in today, I can add my thoughts on the pack after a few uses ...
