Anyone else excited to see this thing come out! I realize it may not handle wind the best but it looks like an awesome structure for my needs. They say it handles conditions even better than they expected. Looking forward to seeing specs and pricing.

Looks cool. The photos initially released (the bottom two) are a bit deceiving once you actually see the side view (first photo). Still interesting but not nearly as big as it appeared to me in some of the first photos released.

So when are they releasing it? Interested to see what the price point is and I agree, the release photos are deceiving vs the top photo.

I guess my biggest concern as I keep looking at it is, with a stove, how many people can you fit in there? Maybe 3-4 if you are stepping over people to get out of the door? I realize they have cots in the photos but that isn't that much more space. With the stove where it is in the photos, I don't see how you could get more than maybe 3 people running the same direction they are in the photo. Maybe move the stove over to one side a bit. Other than that, where else do you put someone, up by the door I guess?

My thought would be that it would offer 2 or 3 guys the opportunity to stand up inside.

Most definitely. It would truly be a thrown room, castle and kingdom for a small group. Hopefully more info is release soon.

Maybe it was listed in that other thread? I seem to remember now seeing a weight but I can't remember what it was. I'm on a plane so I can't search very quickly...

Yeah, that just seems really heavy when you can get a Cabela's Outback Lodge that easily holds 4 people and weighs 13lbs...and is only $280

Agreed!! Still waiting for someone to build something like a GoLite SL-8, or Nemo Hexalite. Both are less than 10 pounds and are roughly 200 sq ft.

I believe the SL-8 is 4.5 pounds for the fly and and about 5.5 with all the stakes and stove jack installed.

Yeah, for 10+ lbs it should be able to accommodate 6-8 in tight quarters at a minimum. I mean, what does a large tipi weigh? I don't think this tent is meant to fit into the ultralight category but if it's gonna be pricey (just guessing) and not super light, I'm left wondering what niche it fills

My sawtooth is just under 5lbs if I remember correctly so it seems hard to believe this model would be 12lbs doesn't it?

For the price I've seen on it, and the specs...I'll pass. Better options out there.

Someday someone will make a clone the the GoLite SL-8. 4 pounds and 5 oz for the fly, use 2 sets of trekking poles to setup and have 15-17 people hanging out inside while it pours outside and the stove is roasting.

Simple design yes not extreme wind worthy but if you know that going in and pitch it in an area with that in mind I have yet to have an issue with mine.

Basically a megatarp on a 4X scale! GoLite sold it for like $399 or something on sale when I picked mine up. Can be run with a 4 person pyramid nest for a 90 sq ft bug free sleep space for 4-5 folks and a 90 sq ft hangout area with area for plenty of gear and a stove. All up its less than 7.5 pounds....break that down to 4-5 people and its a bargain of a shelter and palace for all.

Yeah it might be a bit more due to made in the USA and better fabrics but if Seek Outside could sew up this simple 2 door design and sell it for $599 I have a feeling they'd sell a pile of them.

Mcdane tents out of colorado looks to make one that is the same footprint as the sl8. I have been waiting to see if any other companies will make one. But it might be worth a look...
