Will this be 2 separate pockets sold together? Batwing idea? Will it be 2 pockets with a middle back panel sewed to hold them together? Full zip on angle like you already have? Horseshoe partial zipper? We will keep it in mind.
Another option, that has not really been discussed , is the Saker / Brooks wing pockets will now be a stand alone , clip in. That will provide 2200 CI , and weigh about 13 ounces . They can be added to any pack, or can be used stand alone on a breakaway platform as a day rig. Also, you can use only one if desired. Example say you have a Divide at 4500 .. you can and both for winter use and have 6700 ish .
Two separate pockets a left and right , same orientation as current with the angled zipper, hydro port .. couple small changesWill this be 2 separate pockets sold together? Batwing idea? Just trying to get a visual on this. Its in the works or already done?
Any idea on availability?
Do they work on integrated packs? Two separate pockets a left and right , same orientation as current with the angled zipper, hydro port .. couple small changes
1. Slightly smaller (1100 CI vs 1200 )
2. Internal loops anchored to compression spots , for little pull outs.
Sold singular . or left right pair.
About 12 -13 ounces for the pair .
We have photos, have done testing etc, just need to get the stock photography and a couple small changes .. and the required back end for production. Look for them soonish.
Big benefit in my mind
1. Can run on the frame as day pack 2200 CI .. can add with a merlin and you have like a 3400 CI pack . Can be pretty much an only setup for the ones that like a lot of flexibility.
2. Can add as extra volume on other packs .. can even add with Merlin or Talon but if you can take say a Divide from 4500 to 6700 .. for late season or hunting and only add 13 ounces .. sounds like some pretty desirability.
3. Can be very use case specific .. say all photography gear , add one if you are doing a photograph heavy trip.
I messaged them, said 6-8 weeks, (I have an Ultra Lanner)I haven’t seen anyone ask this question and I’m sure it might be difficult to say with everything being brand new.
What are lead times looking like?
They covered this on the Seek podcast, mentioned the Ultra not being as pliable on those areas or something like thatIs there any plans for a bag completely made out of ultra without the spectra accents? Or is it something that could possibly be added to the custom pack options? Id be interested in a big bag like that, or one with multicam xpac/cordura accents
The SpectraGrid is better than the Ultra for the accents. There is no weight penalty and the Grid is waterproof enough , but more pliable and better for what it is doingIs there any plans for a bag completely made out of ultra without the spectra accents? Yes the Brooks style wing pockets can work on integrated.Do they work on integrated packs?
We did build stock prior to release. We underestimated the Ultra demand though , so likely there is a lead time there. I am not sure, but 6 -8 seems a little on the long side. Wolf packs, we likely have in stock.I haven’t seen anyone ask this question and I’m sure it might be difficult to say with everything being brand new.

Some of the customizations should already be available , but it is far reduced from the previous custom options. Mostly zipper / add or delete and bottle pocket stuff. We built the vast majority of what people were building in custom , into the liner up (Kenai , Asymmetrical Pockets, Adding one Brooks style Pocket , Color changes)Might have missed it. Is there a ballpark date that custom bags will be available?
Still using Cordura on a few high stress spots, and the breakaway panel. Frankly, Cordura , other than not being waterproof , does a really good job of stitch holding etc and we have never really had a problem there. In all these discussion about new materials for the bags I just realised it might be interesting to know what is the fabric used for the frame encasement? Are you still using cordura for that? I always felt that a fabric that does not absorb blood might be a win because the actual frame encasement does get some blood and dirt on when meat is packed between frame and bag.
That is really hard to tell .. it should be similar to our Flight Two , as we moved the same bottle pockets form the Flight Two. However there are so many variables such as where you wear your pack, shoulder flexibility etc.Is there already a video out showing how easy it is to access a nalgene or water bottle out of the asymmetrical pocket on the pack? I’m trying to get an idea if it’s for me or if I have enough mobility in my shoulders to use it easily

It attaches via gatekeepers to loops near the load lifter. Our lid , is not large, but can attach in a lot of locations. No reason for it to flop around but it could if you don't tighten itAny photos of how the top lid attaches to the pack? Is the top lid fairly stable or does it have a tendency to flop around when the pack isn’t maxed out? Mainly curious how it attaches to the Unaweep.
