Second Skins

This summer I had a bad pain right on my heel. Turns out I have big bone spurs on each heel and it's inflamming my achilles tendon where it spreads out over the back of my foot. I went in today for a second steroid shot since I leave in ten days for my elk hunt. My first lasted about two months. I'm guessing I'm headed in to surgery late winter.

I've used Leukotape for years. The first shot thinned the skin on my heel and removing the tape really stretches out the skin now that the callouses are gone. I was thinking of putting one of this under the tape just over the bone spur and was just curious if anyone else has tried these.

I ordered them and tried them out. They don’t work for a bone spur. I think they’d work great to provide a little cushion under Leukotape but they aren’t easily handled.

Wouldn’t think they’d work for bone spurs. Seems like you need something with more padding. Heading to the pediatrist tomorrow to have some pains checked out...
