Sealing a Limb Tip

[Grand Passage]

I had to file and sand a limb tip/string nock on a wood/fiberglass bow, as it was fraying my string loops.

What should I use to seal the tips?

I would prefer a wipe on product such as wipe on poly.
- should I use oil or water based?
- polyurethane vs spar urethane?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Super glue is a good way to seal up the wood for minor jobs. It used to be the recommended method for touching up nicks and scratches straight from Ken Beck over at Black widow. You can also use poly either spray or wipe on.

LocTite Super glue 420. Yes, it's expensive, but it seals wood like nothing else. It's aerospace grade and thin like water. Dip a toothpick in it and touch it to the surface you need sealed. It will wick into the wood and seal it. Best stuff for cracks or nicks in risers too. Be careful not to get it on your hands. Like I said, it's really thin and spreads quick and dries fast.
