That’s a good point, but my understanding is the mastitis is from a dead fawn , not nursing the tit . The government didn’t put the area in quarantine for fun I assume. A lot of stuff has happened over the last week, hopefully they start releasing the sterile flies soon

You are in the thick of it. I misread it as they were modifying quarantines based off of a picture.

The picture means nothing. So far there have been zero NWS positive cases detected in wildlife. All positives so far are domestic animals.
When a positive is located, sterile flies are released in the adjacent areas and traps put out. You can monitor the progress on USDA APHIS website. There have been zero NWS caught in their traps either which tells us the sterile fly drops and containment efforts are working.
If efforts weren’t working, we’d have verified wildlife cases within those counties and flys caught in traps also.
Social media false information is everywhere.
As a wildlife biologist in south Texas, I am monitoring this closely bc my livelihood depends on me being able to give my landowners real world advice based in science and not on social media opinions.
