Not sure I’ve ever been more thankful that we eat almost 100% venison at this point when it comes to red meat. Hate to see where this ends up when it comes to beef prices.I guess we ain't going to see $3 hamburger anytime soon. Cheapest out here is about $6. I usually mix some of my venison burger with cheap beef burger. That's going to be a bit painful this year.
Your in Michigan so I would say your deer are fairly safe from screwwormNot sure I’ve ever been more thankful that we eat almost 100% venison at this point when it comes to red meat. Hate to see where this ends up when it comes to beef prices.

How many cases now? Up to 6 or is the goat in Gillespie county still the last one?More news.
Worth noting. This means deer hides and carcases as well.
Hides, carcasses, and parts of any animal capable of serving as a host for NWS must be inspected and undergo any treatment deemed necessary by a Commission representative prior to removal from the Infested Zones.
ARTICLE
USDA's National Veterinary Services Laboratories has confirmed an additional NWS case in a calf in La Salle County, Texas, bringing the total number of confirmed U.S. cases to six. USDA and TAHC continue to coordinate response and investigation efforts.
TAHC has also confirmed an NWS detection in Edwards County, Texas. As part of the state's response efforts, TAHC has issued an Executive Director Order establishing animal movement restrictions for Edwards, Sutton, and Val Verde Counties to help prevent the spread of NWS.
EWA encourages members to remain vigilant and closely monitor animals for suspicious wounds, maggots, larvae, eggs, foul odors, unusual drainage, or other signs of infestation. Early detection and reporting remain critical to limiting the spread of NWS.
TAHC's interactive NWS Zone Map provides current infested
zones, quarantined areas, and response information:

There’s a new county every time I check that tracker. I can’t believe they haven’t found any in traps or wild animals yet, are all these cattle that are popping up from the same area and getting moved around?

My wife’s house is only 14 miles south of one zone and now it’s in Sonora Texas (150miles away) seems to be traveling up hwy 83 & 277 , really hope the big ranchers in south Texas aren’t shipping cattle to their north Texas places. There’s a new county every time I check that tracker.
