Scrape question

scrapes are like meeting women on a girls night out. they'll take all your time but theyre usually going home with their friends. the only time ive been sucessfull with scrapes i also happen to be in bedding

Scrapes just tell you bucks are around and where deer traffic is. Where we hunt, there are scrapes where trails intersect at habitat changes. Woods to grassy area - scrape. Oak to pines - scrape. Like that.

Have a cell cam watching an area and two rubbing branches and scrapes are on the right side - have a couple pics of them sniffing the rubbing branches but no pics of the scrapes being created or used. Go figure, camera is right there for a year so far.

I have some agreement and disagreement with the above as all scrapes (based on area of the world, area of habitat, seasonal changes, environmental changes, etc) vary. The licking branch means more than the scrape. Whitetails, right?

Short answer for the best is "where you have historical data that matches current conditions that can be hunted in a way not to tip the deer off". I would emphasize the earlier or later in the year, the more id bank on it- esp if the does stay the same.
