Would these be ideal on a early season elk hunt in NM?

I have those and for me they are just wet weather/winter season footwear. I personally find most WP footwear to be hot and less breathable...to the point a few times sitting and glassing in warm, direct sun I have just taken them off because my feet just get too hot.

I haven't hunted NM but am a high desert Idaho wanderer and imagine conditions fairly similar to early season NM. I would personally wear shoe/mid boot that is very breathable and light that also dry quickly if they get wet - in my case I'd wear my Topo Mt Racers shoes or something similar.
