Scouting tips for CO 3rd and 4th season

Figure out access points and then find good glassing points from those access points. I’ve watched guys blow out a lot of good spots from just aimlessly walking around with their rifles during those seasons. The deer should be active and looking for love that time of year. Be patient and let your optics do the work for you.
But I will warn you the hunter pressure between 3rd and 4th is night and day in some units. I will take 4th and deal with potential crappy weather and a shorter season over the orange wave of 3rd and the headaches of guys screwing up your hunt plans on a daily basis.
Pick a unit and stick with it for a few seasons is my best advice. Some years have been rough and some years have been exceptional where I hunt back there.

Lots of good advice here. I hunted a 4th season tag last year and was reminded that there are fewer bucks alive by then…

Good luck.

Colorado has a ton of resident deer that never migrate…..

Just sayin..
This year will be my first time drawing a mule deer tag. It will be a 3rd season tag. I will be limited to e scouting since non resident and almost 20 hours away. Any certain elevation ranges I should consider looking at?

Weather dependent & unit dependent, but 8k and below generally has more deer in it by mid Nov
