Take your shot at the deer score see how close we can get!
Dang looks way bigger on the ground.Take your shot at the deer score see how close we can get!
6 ft 215. The rack is towards camera but if you look at my arms especially left arm it is bent resting on my leg, so not extended at all, actually sitting close to the rack in perspective. I have the finished mount pics to but can’t get them to loadI'm interested to hear the actual gross score. I don't know where it was shot or how big the OP is, but in the grip and grins the rack is pushed towards the camera increasing the perceived size. Plus, IME, it takes a damn big 8 pointer to make 150. From the rear view the G2s appear to be 8ish" and the G3s around 6-7". Average mass, and looks to be 18-20" inside.
Regardless of score, that's a fine buck, and he could ride in my truck.
Our measurements are pretty dang close. I went with 20" and 22" beams and +/- an inch or so on the others.I'll take a stab at 140...I got a couple 8pts right in that range and just killed a 151" 9pt (2" g4 so 149" 8pt) I just can't make the one pictured above that big. Mine had 24" beams and the smallest mass measurement at 4 1/8. Although he is only a little over 15" wide.
Deer above I did 20wide 23" beams...
4" brows
G2s 10-8
G3s 8-6
C1s 4.5-4.5
C2s 4-4
C3s 4-4
C4a 3-3
That is right around 137 and Ill throw in 3" for fun....But the recovery pictures definitely have me questioning because he looks a lot nicer dead than on trail cam which many times is the other way around. I also mentally purposefully don't give the benefit of the doubt so myself or when I was guiding clients weren't disappointed...so my brain may disagree with me.
I had 21" beams but when that g2 is above the end of the ear the front end would have to be pretty stubby to not be above 20. I would put base to g2 along the beam over 9" and he has good space between tines and after the last tine. Our measurements are pretty dang close. I went with 20" and 22" beams and +/- an inch or so on the others.
