First year archery hunting mule deer. Got on a big buck for me, couldn't tell you what he would score, stalked him to what I imagine to have been 30 yds when I ranged him it gave me 55 yrds. The very inexperienced me decided to trust the rangefinder.

Nocked an arrow, pin in place, process felt good shot felt good. Arrow went right over his back.
Head snapped up then he bolted in about 5 secs

Last year I'll go out with a cheap rangefinder

This is one that still bothers me. Saw him 2 Septembers in a row a while back on a general Idaho tag but was never able to seal the deal. Not a huge frame but he had all kinds of extras. Best we could tell he was at least a 10x10 but could’ve had a couple more we couldn’t see.

No pics, but rushed a shot with the muzzleloader on a giant 4x4 with a drop tine this past season. Shot right over his back. Hoping he made it through the rifle seasons and I'll see him again this year.

I saw this guy while scouting the weekend before season opened 2 years ago. My first look was straight on and i would have put him in the high 20s to maybe 30 inches wide perfect 4x4. A true freak of a giant for a norcal benchleg buck. I shot a 25'' wide buck 2 weeks later in the same area that i couldn't pass up hoping to catch him again. It was the biggest buck i've ever seen out somewhere i could actually hunt. and yea i know all the ones that get away are 30 inchers lol but if he wasnt he was damn close!
