Scope Zero Check Thread

So the rings moved to 32 in-lbs? I am still running 25in lbs. Who are the manufactures with a tube that will support the weight with out crushing. I assume NF.

It was always 32-34 in-lbs on the ring cap screws. “UM” did not understand the torque specs, and like you believed that was too high. So the ignored the actual numbers and wrote what everyone else does.

Screw size and thread pitch change how much torque on screws that is need to achieve the same clamping force. UM rings at 32-34in-lbs have the same clamp force as NF UL’s at 25 in-lbs.

25 in-lbs on the rings caps is not correct, nor is 45 in-lbs on the base screws.

It is 65in-lbs on base, 32 in-lbs on rings. Regardless- when you start bending metal on a scope- I would not be surprised if you get small shifts.
Thanks for the info. It was my first time bending anything on a scope, I'm not very surprised to see a shift either. I'll retorque the screws today.
