All,
New here so hopefully this is the right spot for a post!
I have a Savage 110 Apex Hunter XP 7mm that I've been hunting with for around 5 years now. Rifle has been great and I've been able to harvest a deer or elk every year for the last few seasons. The rifle came with a Vortex Crossfire ii 3-9x40 scope which has worked fine for me thus far.
That said, I'm looking to upgrade my scope as I've run into some issues with shooting at distance, especially in low light (early in the day or late in the day) so I'm looking for recommendations.
I don't want to go crazy on optics - just looking for something that is a nice upgrade from what I've currently got. Does not need to be top of the line. Likely maxing out my shooting range at 400-500 realistically, and hopefully keeping things closer to <300yds.
I DO have a pro deal on Vortex (45% off) and Athlon (35% off), so unless I find a good deal on another brand, those would be reasonable starting points in my mind.
Let me know your thoughts and recommendations!
(Live in MT, will be hunting mule deer, elk, and antelope.)
