Scope rings mounting questions

Just picked up my 300 prc today and tossed the scope on real quick just to check ring height and mounting. I have a couple of questions.

1. The rear ring doesn’t sit 100% on the integrated rail on the defiance anti x action. It either hangs off the front or the back. With it adjusted all the way back (which fits me better for scope alignment) the front rings has to hang off the rail as well. Other wise the scope won’t fit in the rings. My question: is this an issue?

2. The spacing set up between the bell and zoom is very minimal. My question: should I move the rear ring forward to allow more space to mount to the 30mm tube or is ok?

If the lugs are pushed forward when tightening, they are fine. It only looks weird because your three screw per side rings have a larger clamping surface at the rail.

I moved the entire setup forward. Front ring is 100% on rail and rear is slightly hanging over action. Eye relief is still great.

the pictures in your second post look much better if eye relief is still comfortable. You probably would have been fine with the ring handing over in the original photos though, you could also try a slimmer ring like nightforce ultra lites or something similar that take up less rail space.

Just went to install some new rings on my defiance action and am running into the same problem. Did you use the rings as pictured? Any issues?
