Scope Ring Recommendations for Ruger American?

HI All-

I just bought my dad a Ruger American 243. He is going to use his Nikon Monarch 4.5 X 18-40 scope (1 inch tube) with the stock picatinny rail that comes standard on this rifle. Can anyone suggest some decent rings for this setup?

I've got a 40mm tube on my rugar American and I used the Vortex Pro 1" Medium rings.

I feel they are good mid quality rings.

I use NF Ultralite rings with level with my Ruger American and 30mm scope.

This is one of the models I was looking at for the 1 inch tube. Did you lap them?

Did you lap them?

No I did not. My setup is the 30-06 model and it's wearing a Leupold VX Freedom 3x9x40mm tube. I would consider this setup to be a 1 MOA to 3/4MOA gun with the handloads I'm using.
