Look for a simple, clear glass, and great at low light. Not looking for any long range scopes that seem to dominate the market. Tikka T3X Roughtech 6.5cm left hand.

I like the Swarovski Z6 2-10x42.

I’d say at $550 the Maven RS.2 is probably a good blue collar option for ya. I had it on my Tikka for 4 seasons with the SHR reticle and had no problems taking game out to that 400ish range.

Do you qualify for any Pro deals? The next scope I buy will be one of the following...

Nightforce SHV 3-10x42
Trijicon Huron 2.5-10x40
Trijicon Huron 3-12x40
Trijicon Credo 2-10x36
Trijicon Credo 2.5-15x42

As the FNG under my user name indicates f…ing new guy. What does qualify for pro deals mean? Thanks FNG:ROFLMAO:

Maybe the Maven 2-10x38 or the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10. Depends what you want.

I think you are looking at the right range with the 2-10.

Of all the different scopes I use, my favorite is a Swarovski Z3 3-12x44. It is lightweight, simple functioning and crystal clear. I have this mounted on a Sako A7 in 270 Win. I use this rifle more than any other setup for hunting. I shoot out to 550yds with it.

I used to have a swaro X5 50mm and it was a great scope, but I sold it and
got a Leupold Mark 5HD 3.6-18X44 and absolutely love it. It is very compact and optically I could tell no difference. I still use swaro NL binos, so I am not anti swaro in the least. lol

Definitely check out SWFA fixed scopes best bang for your buck and honestly I prefer there glass over vortex.

I think a Leupold 6x42mm with the LR dots set for the ballistics of the load you would be hunting with would work nicely. Excellent optics, simple, and rugged. I like a fixed 6x power scope and I have a 6x Leupold and a 4x Leupold on two rifles both Ruger 1B's in 6mm Remington and 30-06.

Leupold 4.50-14x40mm with the B&C reticle in it would be great for out to 500 yards. I like the B&C reticle. It is fast, simple, and just works.

I do not have any Swarovski scopes but the one you list is a perfect size and power range and no one ever says anything bad about owning a Swarovski.

Zeiss 2-10x42mm with the Z600 reticle I believe. My son has that scope on his 300 WSM and it's similar to the B&C reticle in the Leupold. It has proven effective and quick and simple to use. Zeiss products also are top quality also.

Thanks for the clarification on pro deals. I went into town yesterday 😕 to go window shopping. Look through different scopes, and was disappointed with the selection. I looked through the Vortex Viper 2-10. Glass was clear, but there was a black ring around the perimeter of the glass that would not go away. So Vortex is out. I will have to find a store that has some of the others that you guys have recommended. Minus Maven since they don’t sell they in any stores.

Zeiss conquest 3-12x44 zbr reticle.

I'll second this, although my personal pick would be the Zeiss V4 3-12x56 4a reticle. Incredibly bright in low light, straightforward, can be found for really good prices with just a little bit of looking (i.e. Red Hawk Rilfes).

I’ve ran old bushnell 3-9x40’s, newer bushnell 3-9x42’s, a cheaper Simmons predator quest, Burris full field 4.5-14, and Swarovski z3 4-12. I would have to say that the nicest (and most expensive) was the swaro, wicked clarity, easy to adjust, and a great turret.

As far as bang for Buck, I bought the Burris full field on sale for $270 CAD and for that price I’d say it outperforms anything close to it, or even double it’s price. Brother in law has a nightforce and that thing, although a bit heavy, is a dream to look through and is packed with quality features. It’s also one of the most durable scopes made today.
