Scope my rifle

Rifle: Tikka T3x 300 wsm
Use: mountain hunting Elk/deer/antelope
Shots: 100-400, occasional 500, longer practice at the range

Considerations:
- rifle will see hard use
- dialing turret w/ zero stop
- parallax adjustment
- variable power
- 9x min max magnification
- sub 20 oz, preferably far less
- Oh, and around $500 …

I will consider other specs as they come, for example, FFP vs SFP - could go either way for the right scope, same can be said for mOA vs Mils, etc…

FYI, I have gone through and am continuing to go through the massive amounts of info on this topic offered on this site.

I know I am limited with the $500 or thereabouts budget, but that just is what it is.

Thanks for your opinions (and/or offers) on a reliable scope for this setup.

For your specs... There is NONE. Literally not one scope available to meet all of your specs in a reputable brand.

Especially the $500 price.

Especially the sub 20oz and preferably far less.

Especially with a zero stop added to the above.

Especially with parallax adjustment added to the above.

Especially with 9x minimum top end.

The new Burris Fullfield 3-12 can get you close, you'll have to buy the external turret with zero stop. No one knows if they're durable yet.

You'll find all kinds of off brand stuff on Amazon or ebay that might meet those specifications but good luck with that.

I'm not trying to piss in your cheerios.... you're not going to find a used scope with all of that at $500 either. Like I said, it literally DOES NOT exist.

Having had an Elk / Deer hunt ruined by a scope failure before I realized and went to my backup, it's a hell of a lot cheaper to just spend the money and buy something like a Nightforce up front.

Plenty of other places you should cut costs before your riflescope (Like literally probably everywhere else)

It’s all good. I got time to pick a scope. I’m not opposed to wiggling a bit on my considerations given the right scope. Could give up on parallax as long as it’s got turret and zero stop.

I have 3 boys and two other outfitted 300 wsm, which have been very effective. Just adding one more to the arsenal.

I think I’ve done a good job of proving I don’t know as much about the current market of scopes as some on this forum. Haven’t needed to shop for a scope for quite a few years.

I’m sure I’ll get a lot more laughs from the scope know-it-alls, but I’d much prefer productive advice.

I’m not sure what you want anyone to say.

You are asking for something that does not exist. Totally unrealistic expectations. It seems like you came here and didn’t get the answer you wanted to hear; you heard reality.

If you can afford to hunt elk, you can afford more than a $500 scope.

Close is SWFA 3-15 Gen 2, but price and weight are slightly out of bed.

If you can find the SWFA 3-9 used, that would absolutely be closest to what you would need

Not necessarily true, it cost me $75 for tags to hunt elk every year and then what ever fuel the 10 minute drive cost from my house.

However the scope you are asking for doesn’t exist. If one did and it was reliable, I doubt they would ever be able to keep up with demand
