Best lightweight scope mount for Kimber 84L? Looking to mount my 30mm tube scope
Can you get a picture? I’ve read that the backcountry’s overhang the Kimber action in quite a few reviews, all highly negative reviews. I fine with aesthetics being off, but wasn’t sure how much they overhang. We put one piece 30mm Leupold Backcountry’s on my son’s 308 84M. They’re 7075 alloy and seem to be better machined than Talley LWs. The design esthetics could be better, IE; square edges overhanging the loading port. But it’s minor, as long as they’re solid. Time will tell.
Personally, I won't use Talley LWs any more.
Yessir. My son is up north working right now. But I’ll get you a picture when he gets back. Can you get a picture? The lwupolds overhung the action on a m70 I put them on, I returned them. Can you get a picture? I’ve read that the backcountry’s overhang the Kimber action in quite a few reviews, all highly negative reviews. I fine with aesthetics being off, but wasn’t sure how much they overhang.
Yeah F that.View attachment 754769
I’m not overly happy with them. Between the mount and the turret I’m not getting reliable ejection.
I shot it again on Thursday and had more issues with ejection. The brass is hitting the rear mount. I confirmed with Leupold they are supposed to be like this.Yeah F that.
The warne 2 piece with a solid set of rings is the way to go.I shot it again on Thursday and had more issues with ejection. The brass is hitting the rear mount. I confirmed with Leupold they are supposed to be like this.
Warne two piece bases are on the way.
Happy to say since switching to this mount system I ran 30 rounds through without a single ejection issue. This is how mine is set up, it’s a Montana 308, the scope is a trijicon accupoint 3-9. Mounting hardware is the warne maxima bases and mountain tech rings.
glad to hear it, there is unfortunately one downside to this setup and that is that the bases are steel and rust.Happy to say since switching to this mount system I ran 30 rounds through without a single ejection issue.
Same...I run Talleys on all my Kimbers and have never had a problem with any of them.
I've never broken a set either but I Know people who have and I've seen enough pics to not risk it.Same...
