I'm putting a rifle together and was curious to hear from individuals who have hunted with Kawdy Outfitters in Northern B.C.

Moose hunt first and if things go well, goat hunt after. Based on your real time experience up there, what scope magnification would you recommend hunting with in that particular landscape? I may use a 300 WinMag or 7 PRC. Anything else you might want to recommend up there would be welcome to hear as well.

I'm going up there in mid September on a horse pack trip.

I had a similar hunt with Tahltan outfitters in Northern BC and I had a Swarovski 3.5-18 on my 300 wsm and that seemed fine to me. There’s the potential for long range shooting but I don’t think you would typically have to shoot past 500 yards and more than likely half that distance.

Dustin’s area from this video boarders Kawdy if I’m not mistaken. Might give you an idea of the kind of terrain you’ll probably be in, the shooter was glad he had a setup I think.

Thanks for attaching this video Decker9. 600 plus was one heck of a well placed shot.
