I’ve got an 18” 223 Wylde that’s sort of a SPR/DMR. It’s an all purpose gun. Have a 10.3” for close quarters, so the 18” would be a 100-600 yard gun. I need to get a new optic for it, and I’m probably going with an SWFA option. Curious which one? The 3-9, 3-15, or hold out for the restock of the 6X? Thanks

3-9x. Or the 3-15x. Both are good. If size/weight matters, the 3-9x. If max magnification matters- 3-15x.

Okay cool! Hoping they release a Gen 2 3-9, but probably about 0% chance of that

Might be weird but I REALLY love my Trijicon accupoint 3-9. Zero batteries, tritium for low light, holds zero amazingly and I dial it constantly. Just no zero stop so I memorize the revolutions from the bottom limit is 3. I don’t use a case for the rifle and it gets a few thousands miles a year on gravel roads and getting stacked like cord wood with other rifles in the back seat. And it’s light as shit.

Does it have the turrets that just pop up to reset?

Yes. Which sucks but… it’s what I got. I just take the cap off when I get in position.

Yeah. It kills it for me. It’s too easy to accidentally pull up on the turret under a bit of stress and unlock it. It has happened a couple of times with people I have been shooting with. If there were a way to lock the turret down, there would be some real use for the scopes for me.

I think I’ll throw it on my AR or my 308 that gets given to my wife during the season and just keep it capped if I can ever afford a new scope for myself. A gen2 of that scope with a different turret style would be absolutely awesome. But it also needs mil/mil. The old AB app I could have wind as mils for holding and elevation was in moa but their new Quantum I haven’t figure out how to do that.

The answer with the mismatched MOA turret, Mil reticle is a Kenton BDC elevation turret. If you could stop the thing from just popping up.

like my 2.5-10x32 for my 16” AR. So far it’s done everything I’ve asked it to do. I think a 3-15x would be sweet, but I don’t care for larger objective lenses.
Yeah, originally I had thought about the Credo 2-10X36 FFP Mil, and I think it’d be great. I just don’t want to drop $1,000 right now
