Mainly hunt back east but looking to set this tem 700 up for eastern Montana etc. Shouldni stick in the 3-9x or bump up to the 4.5-14 range?

Here in the east 400 is an extremely long shot, and honestly let's be realistic l. If I ever see 600yds it's going to be a long shot. I am however comfortable inside 400 with my 270nso unwilling keep my comfort level there with the 7mm

It would be our pleasure to discuss different options with you. I am assuming the majority of your shots here in the East are inside of 150 so how about a 2-10 or 1.7-10x?

Shot this group at 600 yards a couple nights ago. 6x SWFA scope now on sale for $239.99 delivered. swfa.com.

Just saying.

I have a 3-9 on my 7RM. It’s enough for hunting. I took a doe with my 260 a few years ago at 540 yards. It wore a 4-14 IOR and I cranked it up to...10x. Was more than enough. I just turned the mag up until it felt good and sent it. Usually my scopes never go above 6X even at 400 yards. I’m 45yo and have an astigmatism but my eyes aren’t bad enough where I need 25x for a shot like others claim.

I'll be using LRHS 4.5-18x44 on my Tikka. You can always dial down and when you're target shooting or working up a load the extra magnification is welcomed, unless you're just looking for a smaller/compact and light weight optic
