Scope cover preference

I'm curious as to what the majority of folks are using for scope covers while out hunting. A couple years ago I switched to the scope shield neoprene cover that pulls off real easy when time to make a shot, I had used butler creek covers for a long time prior to that. A recent new scope purchase and tenebrex flip caps to go with, has me curious if most people prefer flip caps, full neoprene scope cover, bikini covers, or nothing at all?? I sure like the full protection the neoprene cover offers, but scope caps sure are nice too. The majority of my hunting is in pretty inclement weather with the occasional sunny day. Anyhow, what do you all like to use?

the best i ever had were clear and you could see through them or remove them if snow stuck to them, and they were not flip up either. cant find another pair now.

the flip ups are always flipped when i dont want them to flip. consequently i use the bikini or scope coat. on side benefit of a scopecoat is the turrets dont get rubbed. i had a turret cap come off in a scabbard once and guard against that now.

Feels like I have all variations, but I'm gonna stick with the scope shield neoprene for all my hunting rifles from here on out

been using a bikinni on the nxs with no total scope cover but wanted more protection. the last few weeks added the solo hunter rifle cover. always been curious if its really worth having. been really liking it so far, light and fast to pull off yet keeps the rifle protected and everything in place. may be worth a look, good luck........

Myself and the guys I shoot with have been using the new Vortex defender caps. They are nearly indestructible and fit much better than the old butler creek caps. They also snap better and you can fold them all the way down and not have to worry about breaking them. Are about 20 bucks each, but worth it if you want flip ups that wont break.

The factory cover that came with my sightron (the two cups with elastic cord between) has always suited me fine since the clear plastic in the cups is halfway decent optically to look through close up and can be removed completely when I don't care about having it on (nice weather). Keeps the snow/rain from building up in the scope cup, etc. My vortex came with the same type of cover but it has an amber lens which is no-go in lower light I've found. I just ordered a clear one from shoot thru covers to try out. If its like what came on my sightron (decent clear plastic) then it'll suit me fine I think.

I have the new Vortex caps, they are nice but huge. I have the Nightforce caps on the NF scope, made by tenebrex, those are by far the nicest I've ever used. Have the Leupold magnetics, expensive, on two Mark 4s. Out of all of those I am just liking the neoprene Scope Shield so much better. Keeps the scope protected as well as water and debris off the lenses. This is exactly why I started this thread, what people like is all over the map. Good stuff : )

Have to say, a full coverage neoprene cover protects and serves with no reservations - I just remembered that I had several I sewed myself sitting in a drawer - gonna dig them out now ....

I use the leupold magnetic flip caps. Love them. I've used neoprene and bikini covers and always fumbled with them when it counted. Never had an issue getting the leupolds open.

Justin, the Nightforce caps by Tenebrex have been awesome on my SHV. The only issue I've had with them is with adjusting to the eye relief. Those Aad ones look nice too but are damn expensive. I keep going back and forth between these and the scope shield cover.
