Had a Zeiss on my my 300wsm for a while and swapped it for a Swaro Z5 and what a difference!
For that class of scope the Swaro Z5 has to be one of the best options. super light for the size, 3-18 is more than enough magnification for any shot and the dial up seems pretty good. get the reticle with the MOA has tags(4w I think its called) and your sorted.
I would either go with the Swaro z5, a Z3 or a Loopy VX3 or VX5
Leupolds are reliable and have pretty good glass, I think the Swaro tops them with glass and the Swaros are lighter aswell.
Swaro have a new Z5 with 2.4-12x50mm which would be a great option aswell.
The Swaros have about 13MOA on the turret I think, which should get you out to 500-600 depending on caliber, which is plenty far.
As above too much zoom/magnification can be a bad thing, and you DON'T have to run it on max for long shots. 12x or 14x is plenty to shoot out a long ways. Even on 10x you can shoot 500-600+ easily with a good reticle.
I have had clients shoot the wrong animal when zoomed right in, ie on 20x or more with some of the big nightforces. If there are multiple animals in a group make sure you can see more than one of them when you shoot so you have a reference as to who is who.
