Hey all,

Sorry this has probably been asked a thousand times, but hear me out…

I’m looking for a scope to put on my tikka 223, and understand what most of the usual recommendations would be. However here in NZ we can’t get SWFA scopes and most of the Trijicon line up (except the credo 3-9 moa) The rifle currently has a Z3 3-10 which will break one day I’m sure! I have owned an RS1.2 and NXS 2.5-10 on previous rifles. Both good but I prefer mil and FFP now.

I backpack hunt long distances so don’t want an NX8 weight scope strapped to it- I’m also lean and weight is a legitimate concern. Max range for me is 400yds.

The only real option I can see so far is the S&B 3-12 Klassik either BDC and P3 reticle. Have I missed anything?

Theres a ffp/mil maven rs1.2 i believe so if you liked the one you had, thats a no brainer.
The 2-12 NF nx6 is only 655+/- grams, that might be an option depending how you feel about the reticle.
Or you could order one of the zerotech/S2H scopes currently in development.

On paper I like the razor lht 4-22 but reliability is a concern

Yeah the Maven was good, but certainly not lightweight. Yeah it sounds like I’m looking for a unicorn…. But we’re talking about big coin scopes so I don’t want to regret what I buy to fill the need.

Fair. I reckon the nx6 might be the go. Or you might just have to sacrifice 150-180 grams

Haha yeah there isn’t. My poor writing!
The NXS went because it was SFP and the RS1.2 went because I thought something lighter was a good idea
