Scope Bumper Scope caps

Yea it takes a pretty affirmative action to open them.

I see what you did there.

The Scope Bumpers are more secure than Aadmounts.

If you hand carry the rifle the rear cap will pop open when it rubs against your pack or body.

Scope Bumpers are secure.

I'm shopping for different scope caps for my NX6 3-18 since the ones that come with it are kind of trash. Do the scope bumpers stay closed unless you want them open? The thing I like about my Aadlands on other scopes is that I have to want to open them, I don't just glance down and see they opened while I was walking through brush.

Yes, it takes deliberate effort to open them. I haven’t yet used them hard enough to say how easy they are to break. But I have used them enough to say they don’t seem like they will ever come open by themselves, short of catastrophic failure.

Also, having made some adjustments to my optic setup during the S2H course (for another reason), I think the specific issue I had with them not keeping the lens dry in total immersion may be solvable.

One of my sets of bumpers has been on for a few months now. Seen a handful of days in the field. Today on the range I noticed the objective cover was slipping off due to recoil. It’s also much easier to slide on and off than it was new. Takes a fraction of the effort.

Anyone added anything to keep them on better?

On my SWFA 3-9, 10-ish 308 shots and it would slip off. a few wraps of tape solved it.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I can’t get the sizing program to load on their website.

What size in the scope bumpers is needed on the Maven RS 1.2?

Has anyone tried these on a LRHS2? Thinking about getting a set for mine as I will probably use it on my September bear hunt. I am hopeful my S2H scope will be here in time, but not that hopeful.

@Marbles I figured it is better to continue that conversation over here. I've posted some of my problems with the Scope Bumpers in this thread. But the major problem I have with them is the price. For the price, they should be better.

I fought with them all spring on the range. I fought with them at S2H. Towards the end of the course, I became convinced that I had messed up my rear focus when I put them back on the SWFA 6x42 I was using. So, I took them off and stuck them back in my car. I was 100% happier the rest of the course.

The bottom line is that I find a $9.28 set of the Butler Creek bikini covers does just as well for my purposes.

So, I sold the ones I had for my SWFA 6x and 3-9x42 and cancelled the orders for the ones for the S2H scopes I ordered.

If other people like them and find them useful, then I am happy for those people. I'm okay being the lone dissenting opinion.

Would look forward to hearing more about this, successful or otherwise.
I tried taping around the rear focus on the SWFA 6x to provide a better seal (and to keep the scope from getting moved out of focus), but my experiment was not successful.

I tape off my diopter with masking tape before I put the rings on.

Did you get a set that don't fit before they updated the fitment list?

I noticed when I was screwing around with the Zp5 that .5mm makes a huge difference.
