Scope Bumper Scope caps

I'm thoroughly amazed the Chinese have not copied these!
They should be a bit more informative on that website if they are US made. I don’t mind paying to support domestic, but a couple minutes of browsing that website gave no indication.
I like that design. Hunting in snow is a challenge keeping glass clear.

That's where I'm at.

If they price durable, I'll be ok with the price.
I've been impressed so far

Yes, I figure I could use a durable pair of scope covers that keep my scope clear and don’t slow me down too much when going for a shot. Unless there is a significant sale, however, I plan to watch this thread and see how well they hold up before I buy them.

The Butler Creek bikini scope covers my puppy ate set me back $10. They kept the snow and rain out of my scope. I could get fifteen sets of those for the price of one set of scope bumpers. The only issue is that when I left them in the pocket of my hunting jacket while the jacket was hanging up to dry, the puppy took them out and ate them.

I’m willing to believe that the scope bumper cap is a better long term solution to the problem, but fifteen times the price of a working option is a bit much.

I wish they'd offer these for the objectives on spotting scopes. The front lens cap on all my Kowa scopes pop off super easy. One for the 55 series would be awesome and I'd gladly pay for it.
Totally, that’s a great idea. I had the same issue with the lens cap provided with the scope, I ended up getting one these for my 77 and it’s been much better though not perfect.

Anyone tried these?

They don't click closed but they're like $45 for a set and should do well against snow/dirt/vegetation. Not sure how they'd handle rain?

They have covers for SWFA so I'm going to try one out.

I have these, took them to Alaska on a bou hunt this past August. Before I left I ordered a thin rubber sheet off Amazon, cut it to the inside of the scope caps and applied them on the inside to create a seal from water.

We got dumped on (as you normally do in AK), and they worked flawlessly. Harvest was successful as well.

In Nov I went to East TN for rifle opener. Got dumped on again all morning leaning up against a tree with no cover from the rain on the rifle. Again no issues with water leakage.

Maven RS1.2 on a Tikka 65prc.

Long term I don't like them though. They flip up, and just stick out on top of the scope awkwardly.

I ordered these before learning about the scope bumpers, but not ready to fork out that kind of money for scope caps.

The guy who makes was them was absolutely awesome to work with and I have nothing but good things to say about him.

For tree stand hunting long term, probably fine. Out West moving around in the mountains, etc, I will swap them out for something else before this fall.

Hope that helps you.

Yes. I still have them in a box somewhere but they weren’t my favorite solution. I also had to invert them from the picture above to keep it from hitting my barrel.
