My original version timberlines are worn getting retired/sticking to summer rucking from here on out. Before going with v2 - anyone by chance know how the flex of the Lapponia 3s compare? I love the weight on the Lapponias and I like a flexible boot like the timberline but wonder if the Lapponia has a little too much flex.

Also was looking at the Salewa Mtn Trainer - just too many options out there

I appreciate any feedback from anyone who might have experience with any of the above.

Having worn both the lapponia 3s are more flexible, especially through the toe. I liked the flex of timberlines but didn’t enjoy the height and weight, I much prefer the lapponias for that reason.

The lapponia 3 is way more flexible than I prefer, but I was able to resolve my issues with the flex by box lacing the area where the leather was folding and smashing my foot. I get along with them great now, but still prefer a little more stiffness. They are so ridiculously reliable and waterproof for me that I can’t complain too much. I’ve used them on one big trip in Montana and 3 in Wyoming. I bought a pair of the salewa MTN trainer and sent them back. The just didn’t fit my foot well.
I would be happy buying another pair of lapponia 3 but I’m a constant tinkerer so I will be getting the Crispi summit next
