Schnees boots

I only have beartooths, 5 or 6 years old now. Excellent boots and seriously the most comfortable pair of footwear I own. They fit my foot perfectly, which of course is going to vary person to person. For me, they are incredible.

Great customer service as well. My wife ordered them for me and got the wrong size. I called them and they were happy to exchange them for me and mailed out the size I wanted before receiving mine back.

Fantastic boot for me. My early pairs were Danners that fell apart but I've got 300+ miles on my schnees and they are still great. If you've got a wide foot, I am not sure there is a better option.

I have done the haul road 5 mile hike/hunt twice with one of my hunting partners using Schnees Timberlines, and they failed both times (warranty replaced after the 1st time). I would say this an extreme test for a boot but they did fail and were leaking water into the boot each time. On the last trip it took about 15 miles of tussock torture before they leaked, but we ended having to hike out so he could swap boots mid hunt. I will say this last year was extremely wet, basically every step was in wet muck, but other boots did last the trip (Crispi Briksdales, guides, and Zamberlan 980s).

For the mountains they seem to be good enough but I would not take the chance on them in extreme wet conditions. While not life or death, this was a serious issue and cost of a lot of time and effort as anyone who has ever done this hike across the tundra can attest to.

Love my timberlines. Wrapping up their 4th season, lots of miles on them.

I did swap the insoles out when I received them but other than that it’s just been routine leather maintenance

I’ve had all the models so far. Granite were way too stiff and heavy for me. Beartooth were borderline. I’m loving the timberline but those Torren caught my attention. Do you think they would work for 4th season hunting in snow and slop if paired with gaiters?

Thank you!
They could. Like you might imagine- it depends on how much precipitation you plan on having/getting into. They have a neoprene-like tung that I trust far less in that stuff than I do the leather of one of the other boots you mentioned. With that said, they are very easy to move around in compared the models you mentioned.

I’ll jump in too as I love their boots. I’ve had or tried Timberlines, Beartooths, and Granites. I also have their new Torre Uktralight.

The Granite is a a great and really stout boot. I haven’t read all of the responses here, but I wouldn’t choose it if the weather wasn’t going to have significant precip. It’s a lot of boot to move around if you’re expecting to cover miles.

You might check out the Timberline or Torre UL if you’re expecting that style of hunting.

With that said, I wore them on a pretty physical sheep hunt that covered a lot of miles without any issue at all.

They have VERY good customer service and trial periods. Order what interested you and return what doesn’t work. Great company and great boot.
I currently have had the v2 Beartooths for 3 years and they have been outstanding especially for someone who has a hard time finding comfortable shoes.

I have been looking at the Torre for lightweight spring turkey and general hiking boots. What are your thoughts on the Torre?
