Schnees boots

I only have beartooths, 5 or 6 years old now. Excellent boots and seriously the most comfortable pair of footwear I own. They fit my foot perfectly, which of course is going to vary person to person. For me, they are incredible.

Great customer service as well. My wife ordered them for me and got the wrong size. I called them and they were happy to exchange them for me and mailed out the size I wanted before receiving mine back.

Fantastic boot for me. My early pairs were Danners that fell apart but I've got 300+ miles on my schnees and they are still great. If you've got a wide foot, I am not sure there is a better option.

I have done the haul road 5 mile hike/hunt twice with one of my hunting partners using Schnees Timberlines, and they failed both times (warranty replaced after the 1st time). I would say this an extreme test for a boot but they did fail and were leaking water into the boot each time. On the last trip it took about 15 miles of tussock torture before they leaked, but we ended having to hike out so he could swap boots mid hunt. I will say this last year was extremely wet, basically every step was in wet muck, but other boots did last the trip (Crispi Briksdales, guides, and Zamberlan 980s).

For the mountains they seem to be good enough but I would not take the chance on them in extreme wet conditions. While not life or death, this was a serious issue and cost of a lot of time and effort as anyone who has ever done this hike across the tundra can attest to.

Love my timberlines. Wrapping up their 4th season, lots of miles on them.

I did swap the insoles out when I received them but other than that it’s just been routine leather maintenance
