I got a pair of the Beartooth's this past Sept and wore them quite a bit over the hunting season. No issues and they were great right out of the box. As part of my fitness plan for an elk hunt I'm going on next November I've been going on 5-8 mile hikes every weekend. I'm wearing a 30lb weighted vest and have had no issues what so ever. Really love these boots.

I'm looking for a replacement for kenetrek mtn extremes. They've been ok but I don't like how it feels like I'm walking around with blocks underneath. Would anyone be able to comment about that on these beartooths. I need some decent ankle support, but the thick soles of the mtn extremes seem to encourage my ankle to roll.

Having owned both I find the beartooths to feel way more stable. I struggled with rolling my ankles in the mountain extremes.

Overall, the Beartooths have been extremely comfortable. I've worn them 5-6 days a week for the past couple of months, and from a comfort standpoint, I've been very satisfied. Even on a couple of 10-mile days, my feet have remained happy.

However, after three months, I'm starting to see more wear and tear than I expected. The leather on the tongue and upper part of the boot is showing significant signs of wear. The boots definitely look like they're breaking down a bit. In all fairness, this is somewhat expected given that I've put 25+ miles on these boots per week this spring.

At this point I would recommend these boots, I am planning on buying a pair of the V2's to put into my rotation.

Thanks for the review.
I haven’t been looking for new boots very long and I’m not in a hurry to buy.

The Beartooth is on sale for about 30% off now.
Do sales get any better?

I LOVE. my Timberlines.
I wanted to love the Timberlines. I ordered both 10 and 10.5s last year, kept the 10.5 (same size as my Beartooths 0g), but they just didn’t fit as snug as the Beartooths. When I rechecked my “officiall” sizing at a store, they recommended size 10.5. But, even with insoles the Timberlines for me just didn’t fit near as well, ended up selling them on the classified here with less than a year and not even one hunting season on them.

Since then, I ordered the Beartooth 0g V3 boots on-sale during Black Friday. Same size as my previous pair. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to fit the same and probably atleast 1/2 size big. I did talk to Schnees CS beforehand, they said the sizing shouldn’t change with the new versions, but that’s not the case in my situation. The insoles alone are about 1/4”longer than on the new V3 boots compared to the older model. So I’d say they run large in comparison. Needing to exchange for a half size smaller and see how that goes.

Thanks on the feedback on the V3 sizing
How do you feel the width on the V3 is compared to the previous version?

Same story here. I intended to replace a worn out pair of Beartooths (2020-ish I think) with either the Timberline or V3’s.

The old Beartooths fit my foot out of the box like they were custom-made for me and only got better as they broke in.

Schnees says there was no changes to the boot lasts from the previous versions. However, my feet were absolutely swimming around in correct sizing. The problem for me was specifically around the lower ankle and heel pocket. I couldn’t get the boot locked down on my foot at all.

I spent some time in-store trying various insoles and sizes in both boots. Nothing solved the heel lift.

Difficult to say for sure with the sizing being off (in my experience)

Like I said, their customer service told me over the phone sizing comparison with Beartooths and the V3 model would be the same. They said the same thing about the Timberlines compared to Beartooth (apparently it’s the same mold or something). So it should be the same. But, that said I’m thinking the new model runs 1/2 size large compared to old and would guess width is comparable. I can report back if/when I try the 10s

My Beartooth 0g are from 2020-2021(ish). Same story for me.
