I was wondering if anyone had tried this jacket out. It fits nice and has two chest pockets. Only downfall is no hood but ai usually don't use one anyway.

Looking to use for Iowa tree stand hunting, fishing, and future elk hunt. Seems to fit nice.

Is it their new stuff in the Veil camo? I would imagine it is quality plus you have the benefit of literally anything goes wrong you can take it back and exchange it.

This jacket caught my eye as well. Unfortunately I'm nowhere close to a Scheels. Have you been able to get your hands on one, how compressible or packable is it?

I tried it on at Scheels. Seems good quality and the shell fabric feels very durable almost to the point it felt to thick to me for a puffy. It didn't feel like it would breathe well. Not your typical light weight puffy. I was torn so I passed. These days I have to start passing on stuff if I am not 100% sure I need it. My basement has become borderline camouflage Horder.

I checked it out as well. Too heavy for a mountain hunt but would work fine as a "local" layer. Seems to be well made.

Good looking jacket, 750 fill, 90% down, 10% feather. Not as packable as some but definitely more durable exterior.

Thanks guys. Maybe not a jacket designed to be packable but still looks compressible an light enough for the guy whose not chasing every gram. A few of you mentioned the heavier then normal outer shell, did it seem to be pretty quiet or did it sound like a bag of potato chips?

I own quite a few puffs and I would say it is about average. It did not sound like a bag of potato chips. If it was really noisy I wouldn't even of taken it off the hanger. I hate that! This post is making me want to go try it on again..... LOL
I think I might have a hunting jacket addiction / problem......

Scheels has this jacket on sale right now for $103.99 with free shipping online. At West DesMoines ,they had it on sale for $80. Seemed like a great overall jacket for the money and fits great. It seems heavier than some but should be warm. Will give a review after some use.

I went back to Scheels and tried it on again this weekend. When I tried it on I noticed that the sides of the jacket are made of a stretchable fleece from the bottom of the hem all the way up the sides to the arm pit. I didn't notice that the first time I tried it on. I take back what I said about breathability with those fleece panels on the sides. This really would be a great jacket for early season fly fishing, waterfowl hunting or as a daily wearer. I still didn't walk out with one but it is a solid jacket. Fit is spot on and I liked the thumb hole on the cuffs which I normally only like on base layers. My local store had it for the same price posted on the their web sight $103.99
