Wondering if anyone here ran KUIU booths from few seasons ago which were made by Scarpa? Or New ones under Scarpa own name that released this past Fall.
They also have new models coming Spring ‘26 w/out KUIU name On it but its same boots.
I’m in market for both earlier season and later season boots and I’ve been extremely happy with how well my Scarpa Zodiacs have done past few seasons. So looking at both of these for later this year.
Wondering if anyone ran them in the past?
All feedback is appreciated

I have 3 pairs, 2 KUIU and 1 Pre-KUIU, bloody awesome boots, I use them for our shoulder seasons- great support, sock fit is real nice too. I use the Aequilibriums for Summer or if I know I'm gonna get wet feet

I went a full size larger on all pairs, and fits way nicer than actual size

Haven’t worn them, but they follow same format as all other scarpa and La sportiva lightweight mountaineering boots: complex synthetic construction (ie moderately durable), probably very narrow, and stiff soles suitable for sustained crampon use. If you plan to do class 4 climbing and using crampons regularly on your hunting they will probably be OK. Don’t expect the goretex to last more than a few years. Me personally I prefer a much more flexible, all leather, simple mtn boot. Hoffmanns summit is my fav.

A equilibrium are LaSportivas right? I looked at those if I wanted a pure scouting/hiking lightweight boot. But want somethingnlittle more robust for huts.
I am thinking Rebel as early season and REvolution and later seasons.
I will be going up at least 1/2 more on next pairs as current pair is tight with Superfeet Hike insole
Out of two I mentioned which ones did you wear ?

Yeah they are the La Sportivas, I haven't had any issues with mine and hunt most weekends in New Zealand.
They have held up well, just aren't designed for serious scree slides.
The R-Evolution K8HDs are my KUIU ones and the non KUIU are the Rebel model

I have a pair that I have run since 2022 hiking and hunting in the mountains and canyons. I really like them and they have held up well considering the miles I put on them. The only thing is the waterproofing has failed in the last year or so. They were about $100 cheaper when I bought them but would consider another pair. I had late season cow hunt and had two 7 mile hikes in them before the hunt and had no problems.

Rebel or revolution?
As for people mentioning waterproofing failing after few seasons I expect that with most boots after hard use - if it lasts few seasons that’s good.

The Revolution is what I ran. As for the waterproofing, I agree, I was happy they lasted as long as they did, and I may try to pair it with some waterproof socks to make them last even longer as the sole is still in great shape.

I've had both pairs. Any particular feedback you're looking for?
I hunt a lot of steep country, side hills, etc, so I prefer a stiffer boot but find myself at times putting on many miles on logging roads which is an entirely different set of needs. Thin cushion soles and stiff outters kill my knees when putting in the miles. With that being said Scarpa has always fit me well. Which of the two do you think would be best for my needs?

Man, tough call. Assuming both boots fit you well, from what you said a boot that leans more toward moderate terrain / travel comfort might be the better pick for you.

If Scarpa last fits you, they have some lighter trekking oriented models that could warrant a look as well.

Thanks guys. I like to have as much ankle support as possible. My knees seem to be doing fine with stiffer boots. It’s all situation based for me I guess but with lighter more flexible boots I tend to feel like my foot slides around/rolls a bit more on aidehilling /uneven terrain. But hey when pronghorn hunting I do like a light flexible booth.

I ended up ordering both Rebel and Revolution to see how they fit and decide. But since I’m at a point where I could retire my old Crispi and failed Zamberlan I’m just going to keep both Scarpas since I’ve been very happy with how well my Zodiaks have done.
Here’s my take from fitting them with thin, mid n thick socks and 2 different Superfeet insoles
They both say 8” but they fit slightly different at the cuff. I also deep dived and they are built on 2 diff Lasts. Both boots I went up half size. We know Scarpas are a little on narrow side. Also both are pretty damn light!!

Rebel (will be my fav mid-late season for sure) feels more like a 9” boot with straight cut top of the cuff. NAG last fit my foot perfectly width wise and enough that it accommodates thick sock for late season. It is a bit stiffer sole/boot than Revolution. But it still has a tiny bit of flex in the toe box though not enough to kneel down and have a boot bend at the toes like a light hiking boot would. For me this will serve me well on uneven and rough terrain i often end up hunting.

Revolution. Also up 1/2 size. This one fits a bit more like 7” boot where top cuff is shaped like it’s on lighter flexible boots. This one is deff 1 flex rating higher (more flexible). BAG Last that it’s built on seems to be a tiny bit narrower than NAG above so I won’t be trying to run this late season with thick thick sock on. Trying to kneel down toe box has a lot more flex than Rebel but still stiff enough where if I only put my toes up on a rock it supported my whole sole/foot.

what I will say about both is that craftsmanship and finish/materials really seem top notch. And if they last as well as my lighter Zodiaks did I expect I’ll have these for many years to come.
Both have that mesh like side pan walls that should allow for great breathability. My feet run warm so I like to have breathability even in late seasons when using thick socks.
Looking forward to running Revolutions next month for shed season.

I have several Scarpa model boots including the Kuiu, I love them all. However, I advise to measure your feet in the euro firm and order accordingly.

I did. And based on Scarpas own recommendation I went up 1/2size which fits me just right now.
Though every boot brand is different it seems. Based on my daily shoes I’ve been same size for as long as I remember
But for hunting boots it’s
Scarpa runs 1/2 small
Zamberlan runs 1/2 big
Crispi spot on
LaSportiva 1/2 small.
So I have diff brands boots that fit me same but if you look at the tag the sizes are full size off
Either way I’m exciting run these Scarpas for next few seasons
