How do savage Accu triggers compared to other triggers on the market when it comes to reliability and safety?

Can reliability and safety be improved with an aftermarket trigger?

If we are just talking Savage rifles ... what I found in my research is that after market triggers for Savage rifles do not greatly improve performance over the factory trigger and may decrease safety to some extent.

My AccuTriggers are tweeked down to between 1.5 & 2 lbs I would not consider a lower setting safe.

The accu trigger on my 110 is amazingly smooth and crisp. Its at 2lbs. I'm picky with triggers and usually change bits or at least polish the sears, and this one I never even considered changing, its pretty much perfect. As far as safety, its a safe as any other rifle. Pull trigger it shoots, don't pull trigger it doesn't shoot.

The AccuTrigger was invented as a way for Savage to offer trigger that didn't have to be set at 10lbs to avoid product liability. They are probably safer than just about any trigger that hasn't copied its design.

I like mine.

agree completely.. I would remove the word probably thou.
the only copycats I know of are the Marlin ProFireTrigger & Ruger Marksman trigger
Just leave it alone, IIRC, savage's trigger is in the drop safe category
I've drop tested mine on some very lite settings (empty chamber of course) AccuTrigger blade locks up the trigger if the sear is jarred loose.
