Savage axis xp trigger different?

So I recently purchased a savage axis xp in 2024, also purchased a mcarbo trigger kit.

Now once I disassemble the trigger kit, I find the spring is held on by itself, not a screw.

Did savage change the axis build over the years or am I missing something here.
