I am recently new to reloading, I reload for my ca 300wm and my savage 110 30-06. Since I live in California I have to shoot non lead. I am using 180gr Barnes ttsx for my 300 and found a load shooting .4in group at 100yd. I have tried both 168gr ttsx as well as 130gr ttsx using big game and rl 19 as powder and I have not been able to get less than 1.5 in out of my 30-06 any suggestions? Thank you

Have you shot some groups with different seating depths? They advise at least .050 jump. Most info I’ve seen says start at .050 and seat deeper at .010 increments. Their factory ammo has .120” jump in my 270 and shoots lights out.

If it's an older 110 they tend to have long throat. If you haven't measured your cartridge overall length, give it a try. I have a 40 year old 110 like that. It shoots barnes 168 gr tsx very well, but the cartridge length long.

This rifle is less than a year old with less than 100 rounds through it I have not played with my seating depth because I have only been playing with different powders I have been seating at 3.243 and I can’t remember if I got that number from measuring my lands or out of Barnes book

Does the rifle shoot any other ammo better? Could be the scope, mounts, bedding, action screws. If that’s all good, seating depth and trying different powders / charges should help. Every savage I have shoots better with a fouled barrel. After a good cleaning they will throw the first shot or two, then shoot very well after that.
