Savage 110 Trail Hunter Lite Stock

Reviving this. Haven’t shot it yet, but I picked it up for $389 after a rebate. Hogue will go in the trash for a Stocky’s but until then I relieved the channel and cut 1.25” off the back to shorten LOP. Pics are rough prior to cleaning it up a bit but you get the idea. These stocks are junk to say the least.

Lightened the trigger a hair and degreased/torqued the action. 45” on the front screw 35” on the rear.

Can't believe I just found this thread. I have the exact same gun and the exact same problem with the stock. I was going to get a bell in Carlson but I'm not sure if it would fit. The trail lite has a detachable mag but I really like that it's flush in the crappy factory hogue.

My gun absolutely won't feed the "budget" Federal 175 grain fusion tip. Not sure if I got a bad batch of ammo or the chamber is just tight and that Non-Chrome plated steel case sticks like crazy

Itshoots everything else lights out. Like OP it really likes the 170 grain TA. The 168 grain TSX almost as well. I just got the 190 grain bergers and hope it likes them.

I really need a stock. I love the look of the MDT but I hate detachable mags and a hunting rifle

Update. It was crappy ammo. I should have stopped immediately but shot half a box.

Primers were showing signs of overpressure and the extraction was beyond difficult. Got a new batch of the same ammo and it feeds as smoothly as all the other types and shoots sub MOA. Also the bad batch has no blue sealant on the primers which I should have noticed immediately

Very happy it's not the gun but I feel dumb it took that long to realize

I ended up getting a blem Stocky's carbon fiber for 50% off (which comes in lefty btw)

Needed a tiny bit of fitting, the trigger was being pinched slightly and all of a sudden was incredibly heavy. 60 seconds with a file and it worked great. Fits the factory magazine flush (but I hate that mag. The last round or two will fail to be picked up by the bolt fairly regularly)

I love the 7BC and will prob end up with a Proof or Seekins or something nicer.
