Sauer 100 - Talk me out of it

I dunno 'bout that. I have bothersome customers come through my shop asking where they should go to get such n such worked on. I wont give them a single name. Those other shops dont deserve that, and they do the same for me.



Not sure what a leo or military has to do with anything?

I work in a gunshop and I give out local smiths names out all the time. They leave their cards there so they can get the business. And when I worked in a ammo/ firearms manufacturer I gave out smiths names all the time. LEO and military make it a habit to sniff out BS. Good intel is a lifesaver.

Exactly. Google rebarreling a rifle and you'll get a ton of hits. Except for Sauer 100.

My friend is a retired armorer who will do anything his friends want, but he won’t advertise or charge a fee. When I offered to help spread his name, he asked me not to do that at all. He specifically doesn’t want to be known as a gunsmith. He just wants to keep it as a hobby. Yet he is, without a doubt, the finest gunsmith I know.

Makes perfect sense. My Cerekote guy prefers no house guests. He would rather you go thru the gun shops that he works with. He does my cerekote without going thru the shops.

In this instance, you have no explanation of why a guy won't help a guy out with a re-barrel job. Clearly @xsn10s wants a re- barrel. He is finding it difficult. If someone knows a guy who will do it, post it up if the guy wants more work. If he doesn't, just explain as you did. Seems simple enough.

You just answered it for yourself. You friend does it for a hobby which is why he doesn't charge. If he charged then he'd be even more liable for his work.

Why is “triggered” used so much? Saying that someone with zero experience, is repeating something wrong- isn’t “triggered”. xsn10x’s posts after the first one are utterly ridiculous.

Help him what? Have you read the entire thread? He doesn’t own a Sauer 100, he will not buy a Sauer 100, he just has some weird rant about the supposed rebarreling problem.
