Satori recurve build. What starting point for brace height?

Hoyt satori riser 17”
Uuhka Gobi long limbs
62” overall length

I was figuring starting at 8”???

Going to be a process and hoping for a fun project.

That sounds about right.

My 19” satori with medium Uukha limbs is tuned at a 8” brace height.

The 17" satori has a lot of deflex. I'm at 8.5" with XL uukha sx+ and the bolts turned in most of the way. anything under 8 3/8" doesn't leave enough of the string groove visible for my taste. With longs, you might be able to go a little shorter.

I started at 7.5 that they set up at RMS and now I’m about at 8. I had to increase for a stiffer spine. Eichler says In a video to start at 8 and work in increments of 3 twists. I thought it shot great at 7.5 with lighter spined arrows but as I made a heavier hunting set up it had to be raised to get a tune.

My brace is set at 8".

Anybody using a rest on their 17" satori or just shooting off the shelf?

I shoot off the shelf but have been considering going elevated. Tried out trad vanes this year and it went pretty well. 19" riser though.

I run just a hair over 8" on brace height.

My 21 inch satori with long Uukha Selengas is real happy at 8.5 in BH with a springy and a endless loop 8125 string.
I'm putting together a similar rig (Satori 19" and Uukha Gobi mediums 45#), but still have to decide on the string. Would you recommend the endless loop 8125 string? I'm new to ILF bows
Thanks!

Yeah man I started building my own 8125 endless loop strings on a jig i built outta unistrut. I have 45 bucks into the jig and string is cheap. It is a fun little project on a rainy day and I can build a ton of strings for cheap. If you can serve your own serving on you can build an endless loop string.

You guys shooting from a rest, do you have to chase tiller as rest elevation changes?

I'm about a week into this ilf thing myself.

I shoot an elevated springy with the accutune and I’m still at an even tiller. Also use a fixed crawl about 3/4 of an inch. It shoots better than I can so I haven’t seen a reason to play with tiller yet.

Do you use the springy for hunting as well?

Yeah for sure! With some thin heat shrink on there it’s very quiet on the draw. I chose the springy because it lets me shoot trad vanes. Up here in Washington they are a must in the rain.

That is very valuable info for me, thanks! Interesting that you are using 600 spine on 40#, but I guess they are stiffer if you cut them at 28"
