Does anyone have any experience with the new Salomon Outback 500 GTX boot? Looks to be an interesting new offering for a lightweight boot. I'm curious of the stiffness as well as if the waterproofing has improved.
Going to the city this weekend to try this boot on. I'll let you know how it feels. Anyone else with any feedback? I'm a E width and thinking this may fit the bill for a light boot.
I've been wearing the outbacks for about a month now and to be honest I can't comment on how waterproof they are but for my archery elk hunts in CO that's not a big concern of mine.
To me these are more comfortable than the Quest 4d's but that will vary from person to person. I don't think they are as stiff as the 4d's and that fits my boot preference.
I would say if you are looking for a more athletic profile that these may fit your needs. If you are looking for a burly, stiff boot then look elsewhere.
Also I have rolled my ankles since I was a kid and the design of these boots somehow makes me feel low to the ground and stable like the 4d's did.
